I am having surgery next Wednesday. I was at Fretex yesterday and bought some new clothes and accessories:
Then my package from St. Olav arrived with some crucifixes and icons. Here are the pics:
It was time for Norwegian National Day evening dinner, and we went to Bistro Dolphine`s Restaurant in Tosmur, where we have been before, see this blog post: Bistro Dolphine`s Restaurant in Tosmur
We had reservations, which we needed, because the place was packed. The guys at Bistro Dolphine`s did everything to make this a special experience for us. We were greeted by this charming young man, who had a NORWAY shirt on, which was great!
We were happy to see Timo again too:
We first had starters, then my dad got fried shrimps, I got a calzone pizza and my mom got meatballs.
The food was awesome, there was live music and even fireworks! This is by far the best restaurant experience in Turkey, and I will give it 10 out of 10 on my review. Thanks so much to Bistro Dolphine`s for caring about Norwegian tourists in Alanya.
We finished the fantastic night with fruit salad, ice cream and bailey`s coffee!
We always enjoy turkish breakfast at Muhtarin Yeri Restaurant. It has everything you can desire: omelet, bread, honey, salad, lots of different cheese, sausage, olives, dried fruits and so on. It was a lot better than the turkish breakfast we had at Osman`s Place, which you can see here: Osman`s Place in Oba
It took some time to get the drinks, there were some cats there that annoyed the guests and the bathrooms could need an upgrading, but all in all it was a great experience.
There were lots of guests and we understand why. I will give this restaurant 9,5 out of 10 on my review.
We went from church service to the castle in Alanya.
Alanya Castle (Alanya Kalesi) is a medieval castle in the southern Turkish city of Alanya. Most of the castle was built in the 13th century under the Seljuk Sultanate of Rûm following the city’s conquest in 1220 by Alaeddin Keykubad I as part of a building campaign that included the Kızıl Kule. This castle was built on the remnants of earlier Byzantine era and Roman era fortifications. The castle is located 250 meters high on a rocky peninsula into the Mediterranean Sea which protects it from three sides. After the area was pacified under the Ottoman Empire, the castle ceased to be purely defensive, and numerous villas were built inside the walls during the 19th century.
Today the building is a open air museum. Access to the seaward castle is ticketed, but much of the area inside the wall, including the landward castle is open to the general public.
It is always nice to visit the castle!
I will be having surgery in a week, and I wanted to do something with my hair. The roots were dark, and I didn`t look very fresh.
So I bought this new hair bleach that I have never used before, aimed specifically at nordic hair. It was a very easy procedure. I didn`t like the gloves, so I used some other gloves that I had at home. I think the result was very nice.
Here is what I used in the past:
We went out to eat in Tosmur, and this evening we chose Summer Love Restaurant. It is a very nice place and always shows sports on TV, so it attracts a lot of sports fans.
For starters we got the turkish bread, two dips and olives. We ordered white wine, which tasted very good.
My mom got a delicious meal of chicken shish, my dad got a very tasty shrimp casserole and I got fried calamaris. After the meal we got a plate of fresh fruit.
Our waiter, Genjay, fell in love with mom!
Here he is with mom and dad:
I will give this restaurant a 9 out of 10 on my review. Please visit this restaurant if you are in the Tosmur area.
