Dinner with family at Dolly Dimple`s

We really had a great time at Dolly Dimple`s, Sotra, celebrating my nephew`s birthday.

We ordered two large pizzas, but of course my “STOP button” hit after only half a slice. So I stopped eating, while the others enjoyed the food. This is why I am losing weight. I really like dining out and being able to eat normal food, even though I can only eat small portions. The experience at Dolly Dimple`s was great and I will give it a 8,5 out of 10 on my review.

Keiser Restaurant, Stord

I always enjoy going to Keiser Restaurant. Here is my previous review: Dinner with dad at Keiser Restaurant, Stord

I decided to order the lunch menu, but after the gastric sleeve surgery I could only get down a few spoons. I took the rest home with me:

Keiser has beautiful decorations and we took some pics:

Then we got our dinner. Mom ordered beef with fries, dad ordeed crispy chicken with noodles and I had the lunch menu of beef chop suey. We also ordered banana and ice cream.

We really recommend this restaurant and I will give it a 9 out of 10 on my review! They have chinese, thai and norwegian food, and the staff is very friendly and polite and it doesn`t take long to get the food!

 

 

Amazing grace

After 8 years of me praying, my dad has left atheism and received Christ.

From the gospel of Luke, KJV:

Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

² And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

³ And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

⁴ What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

⁵ And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

⁶ And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

⁷ I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Apple cake

A neighbor came by with apples, and mom decided to make a cake. Here is a recipe you can try at home: 

• 3 pounds apples – peeled, cored and sliced
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 cups white sugar
• 2 teaspoons baking powder

• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

1. Place sliced apples in baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in eggs and oil; pack on top of apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
2. Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until topping is puffed and golden brown.

This was mom`s first apple cake this autumn, and it tasted delicious!

 

Home grown vegetables

My mom`s neighbor grows her own vegetables in her kitchen. Tomatoes, paprikas, peppers and cucumbers. She gives some to mom. This is something I am considering doing at home now.

Marriage?

We went to Gjenbruk, where they had 50 % off all clothes. I ended up with this wonderful wedding dress for a very cheap price!

Now all I need is a nice husband. Any takers? No just joking, I have the gift of singleness. Alone, but not lonely.

Portion control and the STOP button

As you may know, I had gastric sleeve surnery two months ago. I am now 77 kilos:

What has happened to me is that I have developed a STOP button inside That means that when I have had enough food (3-4 spoons) it says STOP inside me and I know that I have to put the food down, or vomit.

For example, mom and I made burgers. A meat burger for her and a vegan burger for me.

In the middle of the meal it says STOP and this is what was left:

Before surgery I would have a big portion, but now all I ate was this:

I eat 6-8 small meals a day and this is why I am losing weight. I am so happy to have the STOP button so I can control my meals, and keep from vomiting. All in all, my life is way better now than a month ago when I didn`t have this in place.
